Refund / Cancellation Policy

This page explains the what's and why's of my policies for deposits, cancellations, refunds, and "no shows", both for the classes I offer and for private sessions.

 

I established these policies both to be fair to my other clients who may be looking for a session time or a seat in a workshop, and also to be fair to myself... after all Pathway Of Joy is a significant part of my personal abundance flow, both spiritually and financially.  I am grateful to have you along with my many other clients and students, as part of this abundance flow!

A Deposit is Required to Confirm

 

Whether you are booking a private session or enrolling in a class / workshop, we typically ask for a minimum deposit of the lesser of approximately 50% or $100 to hold your appointment.  Why?

  • When you book a private appointment, it blocks my calendar so that no one else can book an appointment at that time. 

  • When you enroll in a class, it automatically reduces the number of seats available to other students.

  • It takes some time for me to prepare for each client or workshop.

  • For most of my workshops and classes, I must purchase materials and order / pay for them at least a week in advance.

  • A deposit helps to ensure that you will keep your appointment, honoring the above bullets.

The deposit request may be sent to you as an invoice via email.

Invoices

​

I use PayPal for most of my invoicing and credit card payments from my clients and students.   For deposits, you may receive an invoice via email.  It will come to you (via PayPal) from the following email address.  Please make sure your email accepts these addresses and does not send them to your junk / spam folder:

Cancellations initiated by Linda / Pathway Of Joy

I rarely cancel.  My minimum for workshops and classes is one student... I believe that Spirit sends me the right students in the right quantify for the experience that each of us is intended to have.  And I plan my calendar ahead to make sure that you can rely on my availability if you book a session.

​

Should I cancel your appointment or reschedule a workshop (e.g. due to extreme weather or a personal / family emergency), you have the choice of a full refund, to reschedule, or to apply your deposit toward another session* or event*.

​

I will attempt to notify you:

  1. Via your email on record, if the session / event is at least 48 hours in the future.

  2. Via text to your phone number on record, if the session / event is less than 48 hours in the future, and/or you have not responded to my email on attempt 1.

  3. Via a phone call to the phone number on record, if the session / event is less than 24 hours in the future, and/or you have not responded to my text on attempt 2.

* This applies to sessions / events that are conducted by Linda Huitt at Pathway Of Joy's studio.  

  • If the event is presented by a guest facilitator at Pathway Of Joy, the policies of the guest facilitator may take precedence.

  • If the event is presented by Linda at another business's location, the policies of that business may take precedence.

Cancellations initiated by You and "No Shows"

​

If you must cancel, please use the Contact form, or email / call / text Linda (see contact information in the footer of this website).

​

For PRIVATE SESSIONS:

  • If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, you have a choice of a partial** refund, or to apply your deposit to another session / event.

  • If you cancel less than 48 hours but more than 4 hours in advance, you may apply your deposit to another session / event.  (No refund.)

  • If you cancel less than 4 hours in advance, you forfeit your 50% deposit, and may ask for a partial** refund of any deposit you paid in excess of 50%.

  • If you are a "no show", you forfeit your full deposit.

  • Linda may choose to make exceptions to the above in case of an unexpected personal or family emergency you are facing.  Contact Linda to discuss.

For TRAINING/WORKSHOPS: 

  • If you cancel within 24 hours after enrolling, you have a choice of a partial** refund, or to apply your deposit to another session / event.

  • If you cancel more than 24 hours after enrolling but more than 48 hours before the class start date/time, you may apply your 50% deposit to another session / event.  (You may request a partial** refund of any deposit you paid in excess of 50%.)

  • If you cancel less than 48 hours before the class start date/time, you forfeit your full deposit.

  • If you are a "no show" you forfeit your full deposit.

  • Linda may choose to make exceptions to the above in case of an unexpected personal or family emergency you are facing.  Contact Linda to discuss.

** If you paid your deposit via any means other than cash or check, I will hold back 3.5% of the refunded amount. This is because the credit card processing companies do not refund fees to me when I refund payments to you. I may opt to refund you the full amount in the case of any personal emergency you are facing.  If you paid your deposit by cash or check, I will not deduct 3.5% from the returned amount.

Policy Revision History

 

July 20, 2022:

  • Any refund issues to a client due to the client canceling an appointment or event registration will have 3.5% deducted from the refund, if the deposit was paid by any means other than cash or check.

March 13, 2018:

  • Several updates to reflect change of practice name from "Your Best Self ~ Energy Healing" to "Pathway Of Joy".  Note that some correspondence and materials still reflect the old name.

 

February 13, 2018:

  • Clarified deposit amount requested is approximate.

 

December 31, 2017:

  • Clarified deposit can be the lesser of 50% or $100.

 

December 4, 2017:

  • Clarified 50% deposit is a "minimum" deposit. You may pay full up front. Policy has been clarified regarding refund if you pay more than 50% in advance.

  • Changed from Square to PayPal as our Invoicing service.
